Data Management
In Business to Business ‘B2B’ sales the complexity of communication is typified by how many parties are involved. There is the sales organisation (internal sales, field sales, and channel partners), operations, marketing, finance, human resources, suppliers, and last but not least customers. One of the most important features of SymVolli is how it allows you to set up who will see what and what rights they have when they have access.
- Emulating your business structure
SymVolli allows you to emulate your business environment. You can develop a structure that includes the main company with all its subsidiaries and the divisions, departments and teams within them. In the same organizational structure you can insert all your channel partner companies. All users will be assigned whether they be in your company or external, employees of channel partners will be assigned to one or more entities within the structure, e.g. a sales person can be assigned to a regional team as well as a specific channel partner with whom he works.
- Controlling user and system data access
The SymVolli system can be set up to control whether each user can read, write, or delete any system setup data field with respect to such items as price lists, attributes, and qualification profiles. SymVolli allows the creator of any company, contact, and opportunity records, documents, and attributes to define who can access the information when the information is being entered into the system or being modified. The security can be taken to another level so that users can be restricted what they can change within a quotation, such as the unit price, unit cost, or discount. The controls are transparent to the user and are meant to help the user work efficiently.
- Viewing user and system data
Dependant on the levels of data and system controls set for each user is what SymVolli will display. A command will not be displayed if a user has no rights to use it. If a user has no rights to see certain data, then he will not see it. Just imagine what would happen with the channel partners if they could see each other opportunities. The channel would not exist for vey long. Displaying only the information relevant to each user allows the user to use system efficiently and can be seen to add value to the working environment.

Who has access to information
Using the Sales Progress Report To Monitor Slippage
For those with a partner channel, having all your business partners accessing all information is problematic. In SymVolli you can set up access rights to certain information based on the structure of the organisation.
